How to Upload Adobe Illustrator Files to Canva in 3 Easy Steps

Canva can be an incredibly useful tool for those looking to simplify the design process, especially when working with Illustrator files. Adobe Illustrator is a powerful program, that can create stunning designs. However, it can often be tricky to transition those designs over to Canva exactly as intended. Fortunately, there is an easy guide available that can help users upload existing or newly created Adobe Illustrator files right onto Canva.

With just a few clicks, anyone can quickly get their Illustrator artwork to Canva and start using it in projects with ease.

Step 1

While logged in, on the top right corner click Create and then pick the design format you want.

Step 2

In the new window, drag and drop your Illustrator file from your computer to Canva.

Step 3

In the project section, you will now find the imported design. Simply drag and drop it onto your artboard to get started.

  • Make sure to save your Illustrator files with all the elements unlocked and ungrouped.
  • Some gradients and styles are not supported so make sure to import simpler designs.
